What events are on during the Glasgow Restaurant Festival?
Secret Dining (12pm – 10pm, 25 th March – 31 st March):
The Glasgow Restaurant Festival kicks off with a unique secret dining experience from Glasgow’s favourite guerrilla chefs in a beautiful vintage Spiegeltent on in the Merchant City.
There will be live music and entertainment in the Spiegeltent every night, plus 3 bars on site and a 9 hole crazy golf course.
Pop-Up Restaurant (12pm – 10pm, 1 st April – 17 th April):
Our Spiegeltent on will then become home to a pop-up dining venue, taking diners on a culinary adventure with a different pop-up restaurant every day. You will be able to sample delights from some of Glasgow’s most popular restaurants, including Porter and Rye, TASTY by Tony Singh, Red Onion and Lychee Oriental, as you enjoy live music and entertainment.

Dining In The City (18 th April – 24 th April):
Over 60 of Glasgow’s best restaurants will be offering specially-priced menus and hosting special foodie events. Details to follow shortly.
Where will ‘Secret Dining’ and the ‘Pop Up Restaurant’ be located?
These events will be hosted in a Spiegeltent on the Candleriggs Square site in the Merchant City, at the corner of Candleriggs, Wilson Street and Bell Street. Take a look on a map
What is a Spiegeltent?!
Our vintage Spiegeltent is a beautiful venue, fully accessible, complete with a bar, staging and lots of original characters, lending itself to be the perfect location for a pop-up restaurant in the heart of the city. A Spiegeltent (Dutch for “Mirror Tent”, from spiegel+tent) is a large travelling tent, constructed in wood and canvas and decorated with mirrors and stained glass, intended as an entertainment venue. Originally built in Belgium during the late 19th and early 20th Centuries, only a handful of these Spiegeltents remain in existence today, and these survivors continue to travel around Europe and beyond, often as a feature attraction at various international arts festivals.
Is the Spiegeltent fully accessible?
The Spiegeltent is accessible for wheelchair users. There is a ramp outside, and it has level wooden floors inside.
What does my ticket for ‘Secret Dining’ or the ‘Pop-Up Restaurant’ get me?
All tickets are £5 per person plus a 50p booking fee. This confirms your dining reservation time, entitles you to a Belhaven craft beer, Spiegel cocktail or a soft drink on arrival* in our Spiegeltent restaurant and bar, and also pays for your entertainment on the night (full listings will be available shortly). You will pay for your food in the Spiegeltent on the day.
The menus and prices for your chosen day are featured on the event listing except for ‘Secret Dining’. For ‘Secret Dining’, dishes will be priced between £6 and £9 which will be payable on the day you visit. If you’ve booked ‘Secret Dining’ the menu will be made available close to the day of your visit.
Tables in our Spiegeltent are secured for 1.5 hours.

Are children allowed to come?
All ages welcome although under 15s must be accompanied by an adult.
What if I have any dietary requirements?
If you have any dietary requirements or high chair requests, please include this on the buyer information in the requirements box during the booking process.

How do I book a ticket?
- Go to the ‘Secret Dining’ or ‘Pop-Up Restaurant’ pages
- Choose an event
- Add a time slot to your cart
- Once added it will say ‘Ticket added’
- Click on ‘Cart’
- Add buyer information
- If you have any dietary requirements or high chair requests, please include this on the buyer information in the requirements box
- Paypal is our trusted payment gateway. Payment will be taken by thinkBIG Promotions Ltd – this will appear on your bank statement.
- After payment, you will receive email confirmation of purchase with a link to download your PDF ticket. Please print or show on your mobile or tablet on the day of your event. This email may be in your spam folder, please check there.
